Ross has an extensive career in the energy sector over 42 years including establishing a dynamic consulting business, executive management of a major utility, and leadership of major projects and engineering works in the energy and related industries. He holds an Honours Degree in Engineering (Monash University), a Fellowship Diploma of Electrical Engineering (RMIT) and a Business Certificate from the Australian Graduate School of Management (UNSW).

Some of the significant contributions Ross has made through the consulting practice over the last 17 years include:
- Development of a commercial Demand Side Response (DSR) model for electricity markets world wide, including significant efficiency improvements, and viable enabling technologies

- Project management of implementation of the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM), plus contributions to a number of energy market overseas

- Development of the strategic plan for Tasmania to join the NEM (jointly)

- Chairman of the CEI Committee on operational safety issues in electricity networks

- Analysis, design and implementation of sustainable energy solutions of innovative, commercially viable energy solutions for consumers

- Advice to a number of major energy utilities pre and post NEM commencement including the first business plan for one of Australia's largest electricity retailers

- Development of a marketing plan for a unique Australian 'high tech' energy development

- Advice to a wide range of energy consumers on strategic planning of their energy requirements, supply contracts and energy efficiency.

Ross has also contributed directly to the electricity industry as an executive manager, project manager and engineer over 27 years. This career included:

- Management of a large electricity retail and distribution business, including its transition to a market environment in Australia' largest regulated electricity business

- Strategic planning and major energy business structural reform including establishment of the first Profit Centres

- Research, development and implementation of customer service strategies

- Engineering and management of planning, design and contruction of thermal and hydro-electric power stations, power systems and transmission and distribution systems.

Ross has an outstanding record of successful completion of complex projects. He uses his analytical capability, lateral thinking and people skills to identify the issues, and works in consultation with the key stakeholders to define and implement agreed outcomes in a timely manner.

Ross is currently the Executive Chairman of Energy Response Holdings Pty Ltd (http://www.energyresponse.com/) which he founded to facilitate the implementation of a an effective Demand Side Response in electricity markets. Energy Response is the most successful Demand Response company in 3 electricity markets in Australia and New Zealand. Ross is also Managing Director of Fraser Consulting Services Pty Ltd and an Executive Director of Independent Utility Services Pty Ltd which operates buying group services for energy thousands of small business consumers and their representative organisations.
